Shii-Cho
"It is simple, and its simplicity is strength."
- Kreia
Form I, also known as Shii-Cho, The Way of the Sarlacc, and the Determination Form, builds the fundamental aspects of lightsaber wielding for those in the Jedi Order. Its simplicity divies the body into six zones:
Zone One: Head
Zone Two: Weapon Arm (Usually right) and Side
Zone Three: Unarmed Arm (Usually left) and Side
Zone Four: Torso and Back
Zone Five: Forward (Usually right) Leg
Zone Six: Back (Usually left) leg
Strengths and Weaknesses
+ Jar'kai
+ Multiple Opponents
+ Simplicity left user with many options
- Forms II and VII
- One-on-one combat
Manoeuvres
"Not bad, you remembered to destroy their weapons first."
"I'm improving your technique."
―Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano
The Sarlacc Sweep: A wide sweeping attack, generally used against several enemies.
Jar'Kai: Dual-wielding can prove effective in the use of Form I due to the fast, randomised strikes being doubled; this further helps against multiple foes, which the Form focuses on.
Suggestions of How to Use Form I
Regarding Zone One: Offence: A strike overhead.
Defence: An overhead horizontal block.
Regarding Zones Two and Three:
Offence: Horizontal sweeping slashes to the opponent's side of body.
Defence: Can be blocked or parried (preferably the latter to conserve energy, but depends on time availability). These strikes can be waist-height to head-height, including decapitation.
Regarding Zone Four:
Offence: Nothing too specific. Anything against the front or back body. It is unlikely that one will attack this place using Form I, due to fatalities.
Defence: Back strikes can defended against by a vertical down parry behind one's back. Front strikes can be blocked using the Zone Two blocks.
Regarding Zones Five and Six:
Offence: Horizontal sweeping slashes to opponent's body, but angled downwards.
Defence: Downward drop-parries.
